What ages of children does Great Beginnings serve?

Children ages six weeks through fourteen years old are welcome at Great Beginnings.

What communities does Great Beginnings serve?

Our students come from cities across Gwinnett County including Buford, Sugar Hill, Suwanee, Lawrenceville, Gainesville, Flowery Branch, Dacula, Duluth and even Alpharetta in North Fulton.

A few of the neighborhoods our families consider home include: Edinburgh, Wild Timber, Vanderbilt, Barrington Estates, The Glenns, Grandview, The Enclaves, Parkside at Lanier Springs, Waterside, Creekside at Lanier Springs, Avonley Creek, Twin Creek, Arbor Close, Ruby Forest and Laurel Park.

What are your hours of operation?

Great Beginnings operates year round, Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM. We are closed on Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and the day after, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, New Years Eve and New Years Day.

Do you participate in the Georgia Pre-K Program?

Great Beginnings participates in the Georgia Pre-K Program which is funded through the State of Georgia Office of School Readiness. Children must be 4 years old by September 1 of the new school year to participate. Enrollment is first come first serve and will only be denied when space is no longer available.

How much does tuition cost at Great Beginnings?

Are discounts available for families with multiple children?


For families with two or more children a 10% discount will apply to the child with the highest weekly tuition (Infant and Summer Camp rates do not apply)

Are discounts available for pre-payment?

A 5% discount on total tuition is also given to parents who pay their tuition by the month (payment must be for a period of four full consecutive weeks.) Reminder: some months have five weeks.

What meals are provided?

Great Beginnings offers morning and afternoon snacks, and a hot lunch. Early morning breakfast (7:00 AM to 8:30 AM) is available at a nominal charge of $5 per week. Georgia Pre-K meals are available at $25 per week.

Do we pay for days my child does not attend school?

If your child attends one or more days, then full tuition for the week is due. Your weekly tuition means you are reserving a space for your child. If your child does not attend any days for a full week, then one half of your tuition is due to hold your spot. Should your child be absent for more than one week with no tuition payment made you will need to re-enroll your child upon return. After 12 consecutive months of enrollment, each full-time child is entitled to one unpaid vacation week per year with at least one week’s notice.

Do you go on field trips?

Children four years and up are eligible for field trips with written parental approval. Some field trips may require a small fee.

Does Great Beginnings provide before and after school care?

Great Beginnings offers before and after school care and bus service for students from the following elementary and middle schools:

Great Beginnings will begin service to Burnette Elementary School and Roberts Elementary School when they open in Suwanee in the fall of 2010.

Are your Pre-K teachers certified?

Our Pre-K teaching staff is comprised entire of degreed and certified teachers. A few hold master’s degrees in education.

What security measures are in place for the safety of the children?

At Great Beginnings, the safety of your child is our greatest concern. All play areas are completely fenced for security and privacy. Cameras are located throughout the facility. Access codes are required for entry or a member of staff must open the door for individuals without codes. Every staff member is CPR and First Aid certified. Every staff member has also undergone extensive background checks, fingerprinting, and Dept. of Human Resources Training.

Does Great Beginnings offer a summer program?

Summer camp programs are available by the week, month or entire summer for ages Pre-K through 14 years. Campers are treated to daily field trips ranging from Braves games, to the Fox Theater, to the Elachee nature center.
